The year 2016 is coming to an end, and what a year it was. 2016 was an exciting gaming year, ranging from the action film thrills of Unchartered 4 to multiplayer fun in Overwatch. Unsurprisingly, the games were mostly for Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One, though some were for PCs as well.

Most of the videogames made these days take several years to build, given the scale of artistic and technological undertaking. Many of them are interactive as well. However, you are unlikely to see any of 2016’s top themes in any of the games for at least a year.

Here are some of the names that will be remembered by every enthusiastic gamer this year:

Inside- If you thought that games cannot make people feel things, think again. This effort was brought to you by Danish developer Playdead. It is an amazingly crafty puzzle designed by Playdead. Controls are quite seamless and it tells a charmingly strange story. What makes it engaging is its smartness and its fantastic environment. You will be faced with an emotional trip, undertaken through a horrific world with edge-of-the-seat entertainment. Hardcore gamers are unable to play it when alone. This game is available on Xbox One. Forza Horizon 3- Among racing games, this one is easily one of the most organically progressive, seen in a long time. As a player, you are constantly looking to explore here and trying to find something better to do. The game provides an intriguing sense of curiosity and wonder at what will happen next. Many Australian landscapes have been captured in detail. It’s the raw speed of challenges, trials and races that really keep a gamer hooked. Find it on Xbox One. Overwatch- There hasn’t been a game to quite dominate the shooting market like the latest Overwatch. It has bright visuals, compelling tactics and amazing characters. Players need to think about their roles, stick on for their compatriots and also learn their own capabilities. Play this game on PS3, Xbox One and PC. Pokemon Go- Some of the regular gamers may have got tired of this stripped down version of Pokemon. However, it did not just capture geeks but also entire families. It was brilliant in the use of augmented reality and location-based technology. Players wandered through parks while meeting other gamers and getting tips. It was available on Android, iOS and 3DS.Unchartered 4- Nathan Drake runs across the planet searching for old artefacts here. Simple environmental puzzles are still being solved, but that’s not all what this game is about. It says how we need to learn about ourselves for holding long-term relationships together. Nathan lies to his partner Elena, and depends on his friend Sully but also has to learn to be less irresponsible and selfish. Astonishing visuals, thrilling set pieces and imaginary locations are all part of the storyline. If you do not like the love story as much, you will definitely love to action. In case you are unable to appreciate either, you are certainly not human. Enjoy the above game on PS4.
